$1$3 keeps appearing in status messages

for Things like notifies, join/leave, etc messages, I keep getting things like "$1$3notify" or "$1$3nick" "$1$2mode".

Also, right clicking on a name in a channel and adding to 'notify' isn't working. It worked when I was in a PM with someone though.

Also, these event messages are appearing despite my settings in the mIRC general options. I don't see any options for these in the PolarisX options. I'd really like them to show up in my server window, NOT in the channel windows.
